My name is Greg and I am the Vice President For Academic Affairs (Education officer if you aren't inclined to feed my ego!) I hail from Cork and haven't ever really left in the 22 years that I have been here. I could be glib about why I ran for the position but I would be doing the thing a dis-service by being glib. I ran for Education officer March last because I know what a good Education officer can do and how important the Student's Union is within the college. With that my only promise to you is that I won't 'faff' the year and plan to get the most out of it.

To those with no idea of what the Education officer does let me give you the short pitch. I sit on an awful lot of committees and specifically deal with academic issues such as teaching and learning standards, student needs and developments and everything else that centres around academic issues and other bits and pieces aswell. In addition to that I coordinate and operate the grinds, jobs and book service within the Students Union and operate a consultation service for students with academic query's . My last major job is electing the class-reps and working with the college reps in the four schools to make sure the union has an effective and efficient flow of communication to the four sabbatical officers, Exec and Class-Council in both directions upwards and downwards.
